There are several areas I use as reference points when describing locations. There are the ruins, which is that white set of structures in the middle of the map. There is the Northwest section, which is all the area North and West of the ruins. There is the forested area in the Northeast that I refer to as the NE forest. There is the Southwest section, which is South of the road and on the West side. There is the Southeast section, which is South of the road and on the East side. These locations should be fairly easy to spot when looking at the map.

Explorer Quest

Each location is worth 475 experience. Finding all 21 locations is worth 2493 experience.

Find the Entrance to Meridia: Located on the South side of the ruins. Meridia is a town, which causes confusion when using Dimension Door or [Recall]. When completing quests in this zone, you should exit the quest from the quest door (rather than hitting [Finish]). Then when you recall you'll go to Meridia (assuming you were last there, and not The Twelve). Otherwise, you'll recall to The Twelve. Also, there is an NPC that can teleport you from Meridia to The Twelve, but not vice versa. You'll need to "/death" or make the run to Merida each time. To get to Meridia from The Twelve, follow the road to the South. At the first T, follow the road West. Watch out for the green scorpion, which is particularly nasty. At the next branch in the road, follow it East, up onto the white stone, which will turn North and lead you to Meridia. Watch out for the pack of rats right by the ramp onto the white stone.

Find the Eastern Aqueduct Memorial Pillar: This is the pillar of the white stone wall that is in a valley in the Northwest corner of the map.

Find the Crimson Foot Collapsed Hive Entrance: Located at the white stone structure in the Northwest section that is all by itself and surrounded by spiders.

Find the Vista: Located really high up on the very Southwest edge of the map. To get there look for the ramp up Southeast of the shrine in the Southwest section. The ramp initially heads East, but then turns back West. Follow it up past the Den of Obscurity and keep going until the ledge turns North and then you run out of ledge. Jump North off the ledge, hugging the West wall, and land on a lower ledge. This ledge will have a large flat area and a grassy ramp headed up to the West. Follow that ramp all the way until it ends, which is the second flat area really high up.

Find the Quarry Bluff: Located in the Southeast corner of the Southwest section. It is the ledge up above the Abandoned Mine Shaft.

Find the Abandoned Mine Shaft: Located in the Southeast corner of the Southwest section. It is the white stone structure on the lower level.

Find the Floating Bridge: Located above the waterway leading to the Southeast section. You have to be on the bridge to get credit, which is reached by following the road.

Find the Eastern Perch: There are three large trees in the Southeast section that are the home to gnolls. This exploration point is located at the top of the Southern-most tree. There is a fallen pillar on the land to the South that leads to the bridges that lead up the tree.

Find the Southern Perch: There are three large trees in the Southeast section that are the home to gnolls. This exploration point is located at the top of the Eastern-most tree. There is a bridge on the land to the South that leads to other bridges that lead up the tree.

Find the Northern Perch: There are three large trees in the Southeast section that are the home to gnolls. This exploration point is located at the top of the Northern-most tree. The bridges leading to this tree start on an island in the water.

Find the Sunken Trench: Located in the water under the large felled tree in the South of the Southeast section.

Find the Fallen Ancient: Located at the entrance to the Southeast section. In order to get credit for the exploration point, you have to swim into the trunk of the large fallen tree.

Find the Overlook: Located on the South side of the Northeast section of the map. From the forested island, head up the hills to the Southeast and follow the edge of the map South.

Find the Central Camp: Located just Southwest of the forested island. This is a crater with a large fallen tree pointing into it.

Find the Wading Pool: Located at the shrine on the forested island.

Find the Trench: Located deep under water East of the ruins, just West of where the road T's to go toward the forested island.

Find the Den of Obscurity: Located on a ledge along the South side of the map in the Southwest section. To get there look for the ramp up Southeast of the shrine in the Southwest section. The ramp initially heads East, but then turns back West. Follow this ledge to the exploration point.

Find the Crimson Foot Hive: This quest entrance is located on the North side of the ruins, underwater.

Find the Twilight Canyon: This quest entrance is located in the Northeast corner of the Southwest section. To get there, from the shrine, go across the bridge and follow the hills Northeast. After the second "landing", follow the hill South and there will be a switch-back curve as the ledge heads North. Follow that to the yellow structure.

Find the Fallen Temple: Located in the center of the forested island.

Find the Eladrin Stronghold: Located in the Northwest corner of the Northeast section. This cave is at the very edge of the map.

Rare Encounters Quest

Each encounter is worth 950 experience. Completing all 18 encounters is worth 8550 experience.

Defeat the spider ambush: Kill all the spiders at the Crimson Foot Collapsed Hive, and if a second wave spawns, you've found this encounter. You have to kill all the spiders, so Fearsome armor can make this annoying.

Slay Brynleifur, enraged Djinn: (CR 18) Located to the West of the entrance from The Twelve, in the little pointed section on the North edge of the map.

Slay Kwaeshon, Rakshasa Sorceror: (CR 18) Located on a ledge just Southeast of the entrance from The Twelve. To get there, follow the road South to the T and then leave the road, following the hill to the Northeast. This guy casts a log of acid and fire and cloud spells.

Slay Pukru, Ogre Warrior: (CR 18) Located along the West edge of the map, in the North corner of the alcove area directly West of the ruins.

Slay Jukree, Darkfang Warrior: (CR 17) Located on the lowest grass level, overlooking the water where the Crimson Foot Hive is.

Defeat Lykomedes and his fiendish army: (CR 17) Located on the lower grass area in the Southwest corner of the Southwest section. You have to kill Lykomedes and all of his helpers.

Massacre the Fiendish Bat Swarm: Located at the Abandoned Mine Shaft. If you kill the first set of bats and a second wave spawns, then you've found this encounter. Blade Barrier works very well for this.

Slay Rochussen, Ancient Earth Elemental: (CR 18) Located on top of the white stone pile in the center of the Southwest section.

Slay Osaran, Fiend-Blood Lion: (CR 18) Located due North of the forested island, at the edge of the map.

Slay Halphire, Rabid Hyena: (CR 18) Located on a ledge along the East side of the Southwest section. To get there, from the shrine, cross the Floating Bridge and then continue heading Northeast. Keep your right hand on the wall up to a small landing.

Defeat Laurolle Ehouarn and his mephits: (CR 17) Located in the West offshoot from the Southeast section. You have to kill Laurolle and all of his Mephits to get credit.

Slay Johanie Muhurrem, Windlasher Austere: (CR 17) Located at the top of the Southern Perch.

Slay Ruffinianus Bahena, Windlasher Harbinger: (CR 17) a.k.a. Rukili Bahena. Located at the top of the Eastern Perch.

Slay Ghelere, Rabid Lion: (CR 18) Located on the grassy ramp leading out of the water on the South shore between the Eastern and Southern Perches.

Close the portal to Shavarath: Located on the North edge of the map, just Northwest of the forested island. The large fallen tree kind of points to it. This thing is easy to hit, has high hardness and lots of hit points, so just bust out with two melee weapons and haste if you can. Auto-attack is your friend.

Slay Zackori Nugroho, Fiend-Blood Troll: (CR 17) Located on the large flat area before going up the ramp to the Vista. The flat area to the North is where Zackori spawns. It is possible to tell if he's there by looking up from the lower area and trying to select targets.

Slay Smaragdus, Orthon Warrior: (CR 17) Located in the Southeast corner of the Northeast section, on the same ledge as the Overlook, but the opposite end of the ledge.

Slay Utheseen, Barbazu Gladiator: (CR 17) Located in the Central Camp.
